Why you’re reading this…
Are you among the one in four Americans who organizes life around your heartburn, stomach cramps and/or trips to the bathroom?
Do you dread long meetings, decline dinner invitations or choose not to travel because you can’t predict how your digestive system will behave?
Have you turned into that person who knows exactly where the restrooms are in every building, mall and store you visit?
If so, I’m sorry that your digestive problems have gotten so bad – but I am also glad that you’ve decided to find this website, because your life is about to change for the better. As a naturopathic physician, my specialty is helping people figure out what their bodies need to function better (hint: it’s not usually medication). My goal is to help you learn what steps you can take to improve your digestion so that you can feel really good again.
In upcoming blog posts, I’ll be sharing some important (and surprising) facts about your digestive system – for example, why you feel bloated for hours after eating a steak dinner and the reason why your stomach is more prone to growl in a business meeting than when you are sitting alone at your desk.
Helping Your Body Heal Itself
As a naturopathic physician, I’ve been trained to utilize effective techniques from both ancient and modern medicine to help people live comfortably and well in our challenging times. With the way most of us are living today, stress attacks our well-being from many different directions. We’re always on the go, ever connected and on call…we’re living at such a fast pace it’s truly difficult to feel calm and in control. But if you want to feel good, it’s not enough to just eat healthfully and exercise regularly (although those are important too)-stress management is critical too. The good news is that our bodies and minds are naturally equipped with tools that help us maintain our equilibrium even in difficult times- but few of us are familiar with what these natural tools are or how to use them effectively.
I’ve learned from my patients that one of the most valuable things I can do is help them understand how to tune in and listen to what their bodies are telling them they need. As you do this, you will see that when you begin to honor both your mind and body and treat yourself and your needs with respect, your body will be able to utilize its own natural resources to heal. You’ll notice a dramatic difference in how you feel.

“I have suffered with sinus trouble for over 30 years. I’ve been to doctors and specialists. Each time I’ve told them that my condition becomes worse when I’m constipated. Each one of them told me bowel movements have nothing to do with my sinuses. Finally, I gave up on finding a cure, or at least some relief. Dr. Sasha Rose is the first person to listen to my story and agree with me in that my BM’s are directly related to my sinus issues. She put me on a regiment of natural supplements with the understanding that results would take some time because my condition had been in place for decades. At six months later, I now have a much more regular BM schedule. With it, my sinus pressure, congestion and post nasal drip are greatly reduced. The treatment and suggested changes to my diet (no dairy) have also helped to lower my blood pressure and weight. I highly recommend Dr. Sasha Rose as a partner in helping find answers and relief to your health problems. I use the word “partner” because you have to do your part and listen to her advice, be open and honest in you conversations with her, and be willing to stick with the treatments.”
Consultations
-
An initial naturopathic consultation consists of Dr. Sasha reviewing your primary concern(s), the history and duration of the concern and what your goals are with the visit. She will take an extensive health history which includes medications and supplements you may be taking and reviewing any recent bloodwork you may have had done with a local provider.
Based on her clinical experience with hundreds of patients she may make suggestions for further testing and/or will make suggestions for a treatment plan. This may include dietary changes, stress management or exercises, or herbal or nutraceutical supplements.
Follow up consultations often occur 2-4 weeks after the initial consultation which gives you time to implement the changes. Dr. Sasha is available through the Patient Portal for communication during this time.

Online or phone consultations are very similar to in-person visits without the obvious benefit of a physical examination.
Part of Dr. Sasha’s recommendations may include a visit to your primary care doctor or a specialist such as a gastroenterologist if she feels that an exam or further testing is warranted.
Our system allows you to complete your intake form ahead of time so that Dr. Sasha has a good sense of your concerns and goals. This makes the actual visit time most efficient and leaves plenty of time for you to ask questions.
After the visit you will receive a treatment plan.

“I’ve suffered from constipation as long as I can remember. I always felt bloated, uncomfortable and I couldn’t go on my own. I would strain and struggle for five or six days before finally resorting to a laxative to get it out. Thanks to Dr. Rose’s natural approach I’m finally going on my own, without laxatives, with ease. I feel so much better, even my chronic headaches went away!”
