New Year: Reset and Reboot with Dr. Sasha

It’s that time of year when many of us are starting to feel the effects of holiday eating - more food than we are used to and perhaps more sugar and alcohol. January is just around the corner - a time to renew and reset.  For several years now I have been utilizing ProLon with my patients in order to achieve this, with great success! In addition to being a New Year’s cleanse, people find that ProLon helps them:

  • Establish a better relationship with food

  • Manage cravings and break unhealthy food habits

  • Improve metabolic markers such as cholesterol, blood pressure and blood sugar

  • Lose weight

ProLonPro® is a 5-day dietary program that nourishes your body  and supports healthy metabolism. It is a 5-day cycle of a low calorie, plant-based meal program—once a month for three to four months. ProLonPro® mitigates the burden and risks of water-only fasting, while responding to the unmet need of having a tasty, convenient, and safe dietary program. It is called a Fasting Mimicking Diet (FMD).

What I like about the ProLonPro® FMD is that the body can get long-lasting benefits from doing this only five days a month! And unlike a traditional fast, you are able to eat, albeit fewer calories than normal. So while I recommend avoiding strenuous exercise during those five days, you can work, take care of children or aging parents, and essentially stick to your normal daily routine. The barriers to success are a lot lower! Fasting Mimicking Diet and/or intermittent fasting are not for everyone. For this reason I recommend scheduling an initial consultation (often covered by insurance) if you are interested in the program. I will order baseline blood work which we can review, as well as discuss other relevant health concerns. During the program we will meet monthly to assure you have all the support you need. Please contact the Wildwood Front desk to schedule your initial consultation
